Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT) to join our team. As a CSPDT, you will be responsible for ensuring sterile supplies and equipment are processed and distributed accurately and efficiently throughout the healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and decontaminate medical instruments for sterilization.
• Package sterile instruments ensuring proper wrapping techniques.
• Organize and maintain inventory levels of supplies and instruments.
• Assist in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with surgical teams to fulfill supply requests promptly.
• Implement infection control procedures consistently.
• Document all activities accurately for tracking and accountability.
• Train and mentor new staff in department procedures.
• Utilize inventory management software to track supplies.
• Support the development of departmental policies and quality assurance programs.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Central Supply Processing Department Technician or in a similar role.

Technical Skills

• Sterilization techniques

• Basic computer skills

Certifications

• Valid CPR certification
• Certification in sterilization processes preferred

Languages
