Job Description

We are actively searching for a detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist who will be responsible for accurately coding and billing various medical procedures and services. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance providers. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in medical billing and coding, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately code medical records and submit billing information to insurance providers.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients regarding their billing statements and insurance coverage.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in coding and compliance.
  • Work with the billing department to streamline the claims submission process.
  • Stay current on changes in coding regulations and billing best practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with insurance companies.
  • Assist with compliance reviews and audits as necessary.
  • Manage and resolve billing disputes with a focus on customer service.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to enhance coding and billing skills.

Requirements

Education
  • Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related field
  • Bachelor's in Health Information Management preferred
Experience
  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
