Job Description

As a Sawmill Manager, you will oversee the complete operations of our sawmill, ensuring the efficient production of lumber while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Your leadership will be essential in managing a skilled team, optimizing production processes, and adhering to environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee sawmill production cycles, ensuring efficiency and safety.
  • Utilize management tools to monitor and adjust operational workflows.
  • Work closely with maintenance to keep equipment running optimally.
  • Lead staff training initiatives focused on safety and operational best practices.
  • Prepare analytical reports on production metrics for senior management.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance measures throughout the production process.
  • Encourage and implement innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's in Forestry, Wood Science, or Industrial Engineering
  • MBA or advanced management degree preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years in sawmill operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality control.
