Doula

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Doula to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to women during childbirth and postpartum. You will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, advocate for families, and ensure a positive and empowering birth experience.

Responsibilities

• Support families throughout the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum processes.
• Deliver continuous emotional and physical comfort to women during childbirth.
• Facilitate effective communication between clients and healthcare providers.
• Educate families on postpartum care and newborn care practices.
• Promote a stress-free environment during labor and after birth.
• Assist with relaxation techniques and comfort measures for the birthing mother.
• Encourage the involvement of partners and family members in the birthing process.
• Provide resources for postpartum mental health support.
• Help ensure a holistic approach to family care.
• Document and maintain client interactions and outcomes.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a Doula training program
• Certification through a recognized Doula organization

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience as a Doula preferred

Technical Skills

• Electronic record-keeping software
• Communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet)

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Problem-solving
• Interpersonal communication

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual or multilingual abilities: Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages.
• Experience with high-risk pregnancies: Knowledge and experience in supporting clients with complex medical histories.
