Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Chicago team. In this role, you will evaluate insurance applications and determine coverage options. Your expertise will help maintain our high standards of accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Determine policy terms and conditions for individual clients.
• Work closely with claims department to assess and resolve outstanding issues.
• Prepare reports and presentations on underwriting results for management.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or relevant field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
• Statistical Analysis

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Problem Solving

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
• Certified Risk Manager (CRM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Advanced Excel skills: Proficiency in using Excel for analysis and reporting.
