Job Description

The Traffic Control Technician is responsible for managing and controlling traffic flow at various work zones and construction sites. They ensure the safety of workers and the public by implementing proper traffic control measures, setting up devices, and directing traffic efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate traffic flow in accordance with local regulations.
  • Oversee the placement of traffic signs and barriers in work zones.
  • Assist in training new team members on traffic control procedures.
  • Identify and address any traffic-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with local authorities to enhance traffic safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections of traffic control devices.
  • Document any changes in traffic patterns during construction.
  • Participate in safety meetings to improve worksite practices.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in traffic control or related field is crucial
Experience
  • Prior experience on large-scale construction projects is advantageous.
