Job Description

As a Lactation Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting breastfeeding mothers through education and personalized care. You will assess breastfeeding techniques, address challenges, and provide guidance to enhance the breastfeeding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and support breastfeeding techniques and offer personalized recommendations.
  • Identify and troubleshoot breastfeeding issues, working with mothers to create effective solutions.
  • Lead educational workshops focused on breastfeeding's importance and techniques for new mothers.
  • Assist in the early establishment of breastfeeding post-delivery.
  • Provide nutritional advice related to breastfeeding and mother's well-being.
  • Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other health professionals for comprehensive care.
  • Document patient interactions meticulously for effective follow-up.
  • Ensure you are informed of the latest lactation research for continuous improvement.
  • Support mothers emotionally and psychologically during their breastfeeding journeys.
  • Engage in public outreach initiatives to increase breastfeeding awareness and support.

Requirements

Education
  • Valid certification as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Health Sciences
  • Master's degree or additional lactation certifications preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years experience in lactation consulting, preferably in a clinical setting.
