Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Records Specialist to manage and organize medical records for our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate must possess a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and health information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain both electronic and physical medical records to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Analyze and ensure the accuracy of medical records and data entry.
  • Coordinate with various departments to optimize record retrieval processes.
  • Ensure secure electronic document management and filing systems are utilized.
  • Support coding and indexing efforts to maintain accuracy in patient records.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay current with technology updates.
  • Engage in ongoing education on health information management best practices.
  • Resolve discrepancies and issues in patient records promptly.
  • Assist with data management and reporting requirements.
  • Engage with medical coding specialists to ensure accurate records.

Requirements

Education
  • Associate's degree in Health Information Management or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
Experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment
