Photonics Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Photonics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, installing, and maintaining fiber optic communication systems. You will ensure the efficient operation and performance of fiber optic networks, collaborating closely with engineers and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Implement new fiber optic technology into existing networks.
• Participate in project management and scheduling.
• Effectively communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Enhance current practices by introducing new techniques.
• Supervise fiber optic installations and upgrades.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and hold training sessions for technical staff.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to source necessary materials.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of fiber optic materials.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or related field
• Advanced certifications in fiber optics are a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optic systems

Technical Skills

• Network troubleshooting
• Fiber optic design principles

Languages
