As an Inclusion Special Educator, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure each child's educational success and social inclusion.
Responsibilities
Design tailored educational programs that address the specific needs of individual students.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to establish student goals and strategies.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and documentation for IEPs.
Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages student self-advocacy and independence.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress and educational strategies.
Assist in crisis intervention and behavioral support as needed.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
Master's degree preferred
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Special Educator or in a related role.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
Proficiency in IEP development and implementation
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Certifications
State certification in Special Education
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification
Languages
English: Fluent
Advantageous
Experience with behavioral interventions and positive behavior support: Knowledge of strategies for improving student behavior and engagement.
Familiarity with assistive technology tools: Experience with tools designed to support learning for students with disabilities.
