Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Buyers and Purchasing Agent to oversee the procurement of farm products. You will liaise with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with sustainability standards. Your role is vital in fostering strong relationships within the agricultural sector.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of farm product quality before procurement.
  • Assess supplier performance regularly and manage vendor relationships.
  • Train and mentor junior purchasing agents on best practices.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Assist in forecasting and demand planning to ensure product availability.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations regarding agricultural products.
  • Evaluate new suppliers and conduct on-site visits as necessary.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure alignment with promotional activities.
  • Lead monthly procurement meetings to discuss supplier issues and opportunities.
  • Prepare analytical reports on purchasing activities and market trends.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field
  • Master's degree is a plus
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the agricultural sector.
