Elementary School Teacher (Gym Teacher)

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Elementary School Gym Teacher to join our team and cultivate a physically active environment for our students. The right candidate will inspire a love of fitness and movement, creating engaging lessons tailored to the needs of K-5 students.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging lesson plans that promote physical fitness and well-being.
• Teach proper techniques and safety for a wide range of sports and activities.
• Evaluate student learning and adapt programs based on student feedback and performance.
• Foster a nurturing and encouraging environment to support student growth.
• Create relationships with local sports organizations to promote active school involvement.
• Encourage participation in community fitness programs and events.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Physical Education
• Master's degree in related field is a plus

Experience

• Experience in coaching or leading fitness programs is advantageous.

Certifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of First Aid for Youth Sports: Ability to provide health and safety training specific to youth sports.
• Experience with adaptive physical education: Experience working with students with disabilities in a physical education setting.
