Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Chicago. You will play a key role in evaluating insurance applications and assessing risks to determine coverage eligibility and pricing. Successful candidates will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of insurance applications to determine acceptability and risk factors.
• Collaborate with claim representatives to assess the impact of potential claims on underwriting decisions.
• Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance policy offerings.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay ahead of industry changes.
• Review and approve binding agreements and underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Risk Management
• Advanced degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in underwriting

• Insurance Regulations

Certifications

• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
• Associate in Underwriting (AU)
