Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to work with visually impaired students. You'll develop individualized education plans (IEPs), teach core subjects, and implement assistive technology to support their learning.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver individualized instruction based on IEPs and student needs.
Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials in lessons.
Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and inclusion.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student development and needs.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Work closely with occupational and physical therapists as needed.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
Master's degree in Special Education preferred
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience teaching visually impaired students
Technical Skills
Knowledge of Braille and assistive technology
IEP development and implementation

State Teaching Certification

Languages
English: Fluent
Advantageous
