As a Therapeutic Riding Instructor, you will develop and implement personalized riding lessons for individuals with various disabilities. Your role is pivotal in fostering a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes healing and growth.
Responsibilities
Develop lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of participants.
Implement safety protocols during riding sessions.
Engage in ongoing evaluation of participant progress and adapt activities as necessary.
Instruct participants in riding techniques and equine care.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Foster a supportive and encouraging environment for all riders.
Monitor and report on participant behavior and progress to the Program Director.
Maintain records of lessons and participants' progress.
Assist in organizing events and fundraising for the therapeutic riding program.
Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders.
Requirements
Education
Certification as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field is preferred
Experience
2+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
