Job Description

As a Therapeutic Riding Instructor, you will develop and implement personalized riding lessons for individuals with various disabilities. Your role is pivotal in fostering a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes healing and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of participants.
  • Implement safety protocols during riding sessions.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluation of participant progress and adapt activities as necessary.
  • Instruct participants in riding techniques and equine care.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging environment for all riders.
  • Monitor and report on participant behavior and progress to the Program Director.
  • Maintain records of lessons and participants' progress.
  • Assist in organizing events and fundraising for the therapeutic riding program.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders.

Requirements

Education
  • Certification as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
