Rafter Cutting Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Gut Puller, your primary role will be to remove internal organs from animal carcasses with precision and care. This physically demanding position requires a strong understanding of animal anatomy and strict adherence to health regulations. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment, and your attention to detail is crucial for maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate machinery settings for optimal performance.
• Feed wood beams into the cutting machine and monitor the cutting process.
• Ensure quality control measures are implemented during production.
• Follow operational procedures to minimize downtime.
• Assist in training new operators on equipment and best practices.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to schedule repairs and inspections.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
• Conduct safety inspections on equipment and report any hazards.
• Work closely with logistics to coordinate material supply.
• Document production challenges and propose solutions.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical certifications related to woodworking are an asset

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience with woodworking machinery, preferably in a production setting.
