Job Description
The Community Interpreter plays a crucial role in facilitating communication for individuals with limited proficiency in English. This position involves interpreting in a variety of settings, including healthcare, legal, and social services.
Responsibilities
Facilitate effective verbal communication in various settings.
Ensure cultural sensitivity during interpretation and translation processes.
Provide support and information to clients regarding community resources.
Document services rendered accurately and promptly.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
Attend training sessions to enhance interpretation skills.
Mentor junior interpreters as needed.
Respond to client inquiries and follow up on requests as necessary.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Interpretation and Translation, Linguistics, or related field
Relevant certifications are a plus
Experience
At least two years of experience in professional interpreting
