Job Description

As a Healthcare Social Worker specializing as a Bereavement Counselor, you will provide essential emotional support to clients navigating grief. Your goal is to guide individuals and families through their grieving process, facilitating workshops and individual sessions to enhance coping mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to determine clients' emotional states and needs.
  • Offer individual and group therapy sessions to support grieving clients.
  • Develop educational materials about grief and healing for distribution to clients.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to reformulate care strategies.
  • Ensure that client records are meticulously maintained following ethical guidelines.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions as needed.
  • Attend team meetings for case discussions and updates.
  • Actively participate in local community outreach initiatives.
  • Advocate for clients to access additional support services as necessary.
  • Document progress and treatment outcomes effectively.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Licensed Bereavement Counselor preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bereavement counseling or a related field.
