Steam Roller Operator

Job Description

ABC Construction is seeking a skilled Steam Roller Operator to join our expanding team. In this role, you will operate and maintain steam rollers, ensuring safe and efficient compaction of surfaces on our construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Control steam rollers to compact soil and asphalt per project specifications.
• Maintain logs of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
• Follow project guidelines to achieve desired compaction results.
• Communicate with other crew members for efficient workflow.
• Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment.
• Identify and report safety hazards on construction sites.
• Assist in grading and leveling tasks as required.
• Support the training of junior operators.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss progress and strategies.
• Ensure equipment is kept clean and in good working order.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in road construction or heavy equipment operation

• Heavy Equipment Maintenance
• Construction Safety Protocols

Certifications

• Heavy Equipment Operator's License
• First Aid Certification (recommended)

Languages

• English: Fluent
