Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor to join our team in Denver. This role involves providing essential support to individuals battling addiction and mental health challenges. As a counselor, you will assess clients' needs, develop tailored treatment plans, and offer therapeutic support in both group and individual settings. Your expertise will be crucial in helping clients achieve their recovery goals and improve their overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document client needs and treatment goals.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and individual counseling.
  • Regularly review and update treatment plans based on client progress.
  • Educate clients and families on available treatment options and community resources.
  • Develop coping strategies and prevention plans for relapse.
  • Collaborate with treatment team members on client progress.
  • Engage in community outreach to promote awareness of addiction services.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to ensure ongoing support.
  • Participate in continuous education for professional development.
  • Connect clients with external resources for further assistance.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in counseling or a related field, particularly with addiction.
