Job Description

As a Rail Car Repairer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and servicing our fleet of rail cars. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems and an emphasis on safety while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on rail cars in compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Monitor and maintain the condition of rail car systems.
• Prepare reports on service activities and maintenance procedures.
• Mentor and train junior mechanics on best practices.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional certifications in specialized areas such as diesel engines or hybrid vehicles are a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical repair, specifically with rail cars

Technical Skills

• Advanced electrical systems knowledge
• Welding and fabrication skills

Certifications

• Certification in heavy machinery repair is an asset

Languages
