Job Description

The Race Relations Professor will play a critical role in educating students about the complexities of race relations in America. This position involves developing and delivering courses that highlight historical contexts and current issues, while also mentoring students in their academic pursuits.

Responsibilities

  • Create inclusive learning environments that promote open discussions on race-related topics.
  • Facilitate student engagement through innovative teaching methods and technology.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance based on academic standards.
  • Coordinate with other faculty on interdisciplinary projects related to race and ethnicity.
  • Advocate for students' needs and experiences within the academic community.
  • Develop syllabi and instructional materials in accordance with university guidelines.

Requirements

Education
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Sociology, Race Studies, or a closely related discipline
Experience
  • 3+ years of teaching experience at the university level
