Job Description

We are actively seeking a Surgical Critical Care Physician Assistant (Surgical Critical Care PA) committed to excellence in patient care. This role demands a strong clinical background and the ability to make quick decisions in a high-pressure environment, as you will assess and manage critically ill surgical patients while leading and supporting the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of critically ill patients.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure patient safety and care continuity.
  • Lead patient rounds and discussions to optimize care plans.
  • Develop and facilitate patient discharge plans with the medical team.
  • Stay current with the latest evidence-based practices in critical care.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new Physician Assistants and interns.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
  • Support research activities and clinical trials when applicable.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Manage patient assignments and delegate tasks effectively within the team.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Graduate from a recognized PA program
Experience
  • At least 2 years working in surgical-critical care environments
