Retail Loss Prevention Investigator

Job Description

As a Retail Loss Prevention Investigator, your primary responsibility will be to combat theft and fraud within our retail locations. You will conduct detailed investigations, analyze surveillance data, and work alongside store management and law enforcement to enhance security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Investigate internal theft cases in collaboration with HR.
• Monitor employee activities to prevent insider threats.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss security strategies.
• Evaluate existing loss prevention technologies and systems.
• Investigate discrepancies in inventory.
• Document and archive investigation outcomes responsibly.
• Provide security presentations to store teams.
• Establish connections with local law enforcement.
• Advise on security system upgrades and technology needs.
• Encourage staff reporting of suspicious activities.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or equivalent is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in retail loss prevention or related fields

Certifications

• Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior Law Enforcement Experience: Background in law enforcement or criminal justice is a plus.
