Escalator Operator

Job Description

As an Escalator Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of escalators in busy environments such as commercial buildings, shopping malls, and airports. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will ensure a smooth transit experience for all passengers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure escalators are operating efficiently and safely for public use.
• Respond to emergency situations and assist passengers as required.
• Coordinate with supervisors regarding escalator performance.
• Maintain logs of inspections and repairs.
• Assist in training and onboarding of new staff.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Participate in periodic safety drills and training.
• Observe and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in escalator operation preferred

Experience

• 1-3 years in escalator operation and maintenance preferred

Technical Skills

• Electrical Knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior experience in facilities management: Background in overall building maintenance preferred.
