Job Description

As a Plant Etiologist, you'll diagnose plant ailments, examine environmental impacts on crop health, and contribute to the development of disease-resistant plant varieties. Your research will help shape sustainable and effective agricultural methods.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate the interaction between plant diseases and climate change factors.
  • Design and implement field trials for effective disease control methodologies.
  • Collaborate with agronomists to create comprehensive disease management plans.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of biological control agents.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions for farmers on best practices for disease prevention.
  • Analyze the economic impact of plant diseases on farming practices.
  • Develop educational materials to inform stakeholders about plant health.
  • Provide expert consultations on crop health diagnostics.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during research activities.

Requirements

Education
  • Doctorate degree in Plant Pathology or a related field
  • Fellowship in Plant Disease Research is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of advanced research experience in plant pathology
