Job Description

As a Special Education Instructional Aide, you will play a pivotal role in assisting special education teachers with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs). You will provide direct support to students with disabilities, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources needed for academic success.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support the execution of IEP plans for students with special needs.
  • Work closely with students to enhance their educational experience and address their unique challenges.
  • Keep track of student performance and maintain detailed records.
  • Engage with educational staff to optimize teaching techniques and strategies.
  • Assist with daily living activities as needed to ensure student comfort.
  • Encourage and support students in their social interactions and personal growth.
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Attend professional development workshops to enhance skills related to special education.
  • Collaborate with parents to provide feedback on student progress.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the instructional team.

Requirements

Education
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in special education or related field is preferred
Experience
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention: Training in techniques for crisis intervention within educational settings.
