Trauma Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Trauma Nurse to join our dynamic emergency care team. You will be responsible for evaluating patients' conditions promptly upon arrival and implementing immediate care plans. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that patients receive the proper treatment in a fast-paced environment, working closely with doctors and other healthcare staff to stabilize and support recovery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and prioritize care based on injury severity.
• Manage multiple patients' care in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Coordinate with trauma surgeons and specialists for advanced treatment plans.
• Provide life-saving interventions and medications as necessary.
• Document and report on patient conditions to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients about post-trauma care and preventative measures.
• Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with social services to ensure comprehensive discharge planning.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Advanced certifications in trauma nursing preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in trauma or emergency nursing

Technical Skills

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Intravenous Therapy (IV)

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Leadership

Certifications

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems: Experience using EMR systems for efficient patient management.
• Leadership experience in a clinical setting: Experience leading nursing teams in emergency care.
