Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Coating, Painting, and Spraying Machine Setter/Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, applying paint using various equipment, and ensuring high-quality finishes. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of automotive painting techniques are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.
• Select appropriate paint and color matching techniques.
• Apply paint to vehicles using spray guns or other methods.
• Ensure proper paint coverage and finish quality.
• Perform touch-ups and blending for seamless finishes.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and workflow demands.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Formal training or apprenticeship in auto body painting
• Certification in automotive painting or related field is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an auto body painter in an automotive repair or collision center.

Technical Skills

• Automotive painting techniques
• Spray painting equipment

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Team collaboration

Advantageous

• Experience with custom or specialty vehicle painting.: Involvement in high-end or customized vehicle paint applications.
• Knowledge of different paint types and application methods.: Understanding of specialized paints such as basecoat/clearcoat and two-stage systems.
