Cost Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team. The Cost Estimator will be responsible for interpreting construction plans, conducting material take-offs, estimating project costs, and providing accurate bids for concrete projects.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and relevant documents to understand the scope of work.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for concrete projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary data for estimating purposes.
• Prepare detailed estimates considering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.
• Create a comprehensive database of cost information for future reference and analysis.
• Participate in bid meetings and assist in the development of bidding strategies.
• Provide support during project execution, including change order pricing and value engineering.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in concrete projects.

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD and Revit
• Cost estimation techniques

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Negotiation skills

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Construction Document Technician (CDT)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in value engineering: Knowledge in more efficient means of construction and cost-saving methodologies.
• Prior experience in site management: Experience managing concrete construction sites directly.
