Job Description

As a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (LOTA), you play a crucial role in helping patients recover and regain their independence. Working under the guidance of licensed Occupational Therapists, you'll implement treatment plans and assist patients in daily living activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of therapy interventions as directed by Occupational Therapists.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities to promote independence.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques to enhance patients' physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Observe and document changes in patients' conditions and abilities.
  • Foster a supportive and motivative environment for patients during therapy sessions.
  • Assist with the maintenance and preparation of therapy equipment.
  • Build positive relationships with patients and families to enhance care delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the therapy department.

Requirements

Education
  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Additional certifications in rehabilitation are a plus
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in occupational therapy.
