Job Description

As a Gastrointestinal Technician, your role will involve providing diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients experiencing gastrointestinal disorders. This includes assisting physicians during procedures such as endoscopy and colonoscopy, monitoring patient vital signs, and ensuring a safe and efficient procedure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of GI procedures.
  • Document all necessary patient information accurately.
  • Conduct quality control checks on equipment and procedures.
  • Maintain an organized and safe working environment.
  • Educate patients and families on procedure processes and expectations.
  • Respond to patient needs and assist with comfort during procedures.
  • Collaborate with the GI Lab team for optimal patient care.
  • Perform maintenance on medical equipment as needed.
  • Stay updated on the latest GI techniques and technologies.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited GI Technician program
Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred in a clinical setting.
Technical Skills
  • Medical terminology proficiency
  • Infection control procedures knowledge

Certifications
  • Certification as a Gastrointestinal Technician (CGT)
Languages
  • English: Fluent
