Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Chicago team. The successful candidate will analyze risks and determine appropriate premiums and policy terms. You will work closely with agents, brokers, and clients to evaluate insurance applications and determine the best coverage options.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess new insurance applications for underwriting.
• Determine key risk factors and make recommendations for coverage.
• Negotiate and finalize terms and conditions for policyholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams on claims validations.
• Prepare underwriting reports and present findings to senior management.
• Monitor market trends and adapt underwriting strategies accordingly.
• Enhance underwriting guidelines based on risk analysis.
• Participate in industry conferences and networking events.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field
• Advanced degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience with strong industry knowledge

Certifications

• AU (Associate in Commercial Underwriting)

Languages

• English: Fluent
