Optician – Dispensing

Job Description

Join our dedicated team as an Optician specializing in dispensing eyewear and contact lenses. As a contact lens fitter, you will evaluate patients' vision, ensure proper fitting, and provide ongoing care and support for all types of lenses.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with the selection of eyewear and lenses.
• Perform routine eye examinations to ensure proper fit.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist with troubleshooting vision-related issues.
• Develop and implement office procedures for improved workflow.
• Promote a welcoming and engaging environment for patients.
• Document patient interactions and updates to care plans.
• Engage in outreach to educate the community about eye health.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a formal training program in contact lens fitting
• Continuing education to stay up-to-date on latest developments in the field

Experience

• Prior experience in a retail optical environment is a plus

• Opticianry Certification from the American Board of Opticianry

• Familiarity with scleral or hybrid lenses: Knowledge of fitting unique lens types for specialty cases.
