Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare team by assisting in the screening of patients to determine their needs for further vision care. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary tests, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments.
  • Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining the optical inventory and ordering supplies when necessary.
  • Support the Optometrist during complex assessments and treatment procedures.
  • Manage appointment schedules and coordinate patient flow effectively.
  • Educate patients about proper eye care practices and follow-up procedures.
  • Document patient interactions and results in the electronic health record system.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care.

Requirements

Education
  • Associate's Degree in a related field is a plus
Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in an optometric environment.
