Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Special Day Class Teacher to work with students with various disabilities. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with special needs students and will have the ability to create a positive and nurturing environment for all students to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement behavior management plans.
  • Ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations.
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and strengths.
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports emotional growth.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss student needs.
  • Foster relationships with community resources to support students and families.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in special education or related field
Technical Skills
  • Experience with behavior management strategies
  • Familiarity with positive behavior interventions
Soft Skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
Certifications
  • Valid teaching credential or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire
Languages
  • English: Fluent
