Hoist and Winch Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hoist and Winch Operator to join our manufacturing plant in Chicago. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining hoists and winches to ensure the smooth movement of materials.

Responsibilities

• Effectively operate and control hoisting equipment for moving products.
• Perform daily equipment checks to verify functionality and safety.
• Work with team members to streamline material movement processes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Document all movements and any incidents that occur during operation.
• Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adjust lifting techniques based on weight and type of materials being handled.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years operating air hoist equipment in a manufacturing setting

Technical Skills

• Forklift Certification
• Safety Protocol Knowledge

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Problem Solving

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working with hazardous materials: Experience handling hazardous materials safely is a plus.
• Previous manufacturing experience: Prior roles in manufacturing or industrial operations are highly regarded.
