Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility Technician (TSDF Technician) to join our team. The TSDF Technician will be responsible for handling and managing hazardous waste materials within our facility, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process hazardous waste materials safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all waste management activities.
  • Monitor and operate treatment systems and equipment safely.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Assist in the development of emergency response plans and drills.
  • Conduct waste assessments and contribute to waste reduction initiatives.
  • Support environmental compliance audits and prepare necessary reports.
  • Educate employees on hazardous waste safety and handling procedures.
  • Assist with the improvement of waste management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss safety, compliance, and operational improvements.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional certifications in environmental management or related fields are a plus
Experience
  • Prior experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in handling and transporting hazardous materials
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, data entry, etc.)
Soft Skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
Certifications
  • Additional certifications in hazardous waste management
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in emergency response and spill cleanup procedures: Ability to respond effectively to hazardous material spills.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local hazardous waste regulations: In-depth understanding of prevailing regulations governing waste management.
