Join our team as a Surveying and Mapping Technician. Your primary responsibility will include assisting with land surveying tasks, where you will gather data and help produce topographic maps that support engineering projects across the state.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain survey equipment and instruments.
Gather data through GPS and traditional surveying methods.
Document and report survey findings to relevant personnel.
Support in various engineering and construction site surveys.
Perform field calculations and help in the verification of data collected.
Maintain organized records of survey data and documentation.
Coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery of results.
Participate in equipment training and safety meetings.
Assist in project planning and liaising with contractors.
Follow local, state, and federal regulations regarding surveying activities.
Requirements
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent
Certification in surveying technology is an advantage
Experience
Experience with advanced surveying techniques (e.g., GPS, laser scanners) is a plus.
Technical Skills
Ability to operate and maintain surveying equipment
Understanding of geodetic coordinate systems and datum
