Surveying and Mapping Technicians

Job Description

We are looking for Surveying and Mapping Technicians to join our team in LA. In this role, you will create and update maps, analyze geographical data, and collaborate with various professionals to deliver accurate cartographic products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality mapping products using modern GIS software.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure project specifications are met.
• Perform quality checks on maps and associated data.
• Utilize remote sensing technologies for map creation.
• Analyze geographic information to improve cartographic accuracy.
• Participate in trainings and workshops to enhance skills in cartography and GIS.
• Assist in developing geospatial databases and mapping applications.
• Provide support for GIS-related inquiries and projects.
• Work collaboratively to identify innovative approaches to mapping challenges.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards in all mapping activities.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Geography, Cartography, GIS, or a related field is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years experience in GIS and map production

Technical Skills

• Remote Sensing Knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Advanced GIS software skills: Experience with advanced GIS applications such as ERDAS or similar.
• Project Management Experience: Knowledge of project management principles in a geospatial context.
