Job Description

A Medicolegal Death Investigator is responsible for determining the cause and manner of deaths that occur under suspicious, violent, or unexpected circumstances. This role involves performing autopsies, collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate deaths occurring under suspicious circumstances to ascertain factual evidence.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and legal teams to provide expert insights.
  • Complete autopsies and derive scientific findings to support investigations.
  • Document all investigative details meticulously.
  • Educate law enforcement and the public on forensic processes when needed.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or related field
  • Master's degree in Forensic Science is preferred
Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field such as law enforcement or medical investigations.
