Agricultural Commodities Inspector

Job Description

As an Agricultural Commodities Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating agricultural products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. Your role will involve conducting thorough inspections at farms, processing facilities, and transportation sites. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to communicate findings and provide recommendations related to compliance with agricultural regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the sampling process for laboratory analysis to ensure accurate results.
• Conduct audits of production facilities to ensure compliance with standards.
• Engage with regulatory agencies when necessary for compliance issues.
• Create and implement inspection protocols to improve efficiency.
• Participate in the development of training materials for new inspectors.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Master's degree in Agriculture is preferred

Experience

• 3 years of relevant experience in agricultural inspection

Technical Skills

• Data collection and analysis
• Regulatory knowledge

• Organizational skills

Certifications

• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of organic certification processes: Familiarity with the standards for organic food production is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with specific agricultural commodities: Experience in areas such as grains, fruits, or livestock would be beneficial.
