As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, you will play a critical role in enforcing customs regulations and ensuring compliance with import/export laws. You will inspect cargo, vehicles, and travelers to detect prohibited or undeclared goods, contributing to national security and safety.

Job Responsibilities
  • Inspect and evaluate high-risk cargo and travelers to prevent illegal entry of prohibited items.
  • Analyze and interpret customs enforcement data to optimize inspection processes.
  • Work with cross-agency teams to address potential security threats.
  • Utilize inspection technology such as x-ray scanners to identify contraband.
  • Train and mentor new customs staff in regulations and inspection techniques.
  • Monitor compliance with U.S. customs laws and procedures.
  • Engage with the community to promote awareness of customs regulations.
  • Attend workshops and training sessions to keep abreast of best practices in customs enforcement.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications in law enforcement or customs operations are preferred
  • Attention to detail Ability to meticulously inspect and analyze documentation and cargo.
  • Proficiency in inspection technology Experience in using x-ray scanners and customs management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills Exceptional ability to assess and interpret information.
  • Communication skills Ability to clearly interact with travelers and law enforcement partners.
  • Completion of relevant customs or law enforcement training program
  • English (Fluent)
