Job Description
As an Insurance Underwriter with us, you will play a crucial role in evaluating applications and making informed decisions about risk management. Your analytical skills will help shape our approach to underwriting while ensuring client satisfaction and company profitability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough risk assessments on new business applications.
- Utilize underwriting software to analyze data and produce reports.
- Collaborate with actuaries to establish premium rates.
- Review claims to identify trends and make recommendations.
- Participate in underwriting audits and compliance activities.
- Facilitate communication between clients and the underwriting team.
- Monitor trends in the insurance industry to inform underwriting practices.
- Support the development of training materials for staff.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Master's degree in Risk Management is preferred
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting roles
