Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Subway and Streetcar Operators to join our team in New York City. You will be responsible for operating trains, ensuring passenger safety, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe operation of rail vehicles within the city.
• Perform mechanical inspections on trains before operation.
• Prepare reports on train operations and incidents.
• Interact with passengers to address inquiries and provide assistance.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during emergencies.
• Collaborate effectively with dispatchers and other staff.
• Meet performance targets regarding safety and service.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance operational skills.
• Provide feedback for operational improvements.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Prior experience operating trains is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

Technical Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Team collaboration

Certifications

• Completion of an accredited train operator training program
• Valid driver's license

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with mechanical repairs and maintenance: Skills in maintaining and repairing train equipment.
