Job Description

The Rail Detector Car Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining inspection equipment on a railroad car to detect and identify defects such as cracks, breaks, and wear on rails, ties, and other components. The position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate rail inspection vehicles equipped with state-of-the-art detection technologies.
  • Evaluate inspection data and communicate findings to the maintenance manager.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on the inspection equipment.
  • Ensure proper inventory management of maintenance supplies and tools.
  • Assist in training new recruits on equipment operation and safety protocols.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience operating and maintaining railroad inspection equipment is preferred.
