Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Railroad Brake Operator to oversee the braking systems of our trains. The ideal candidate will be skilled at inspecting and testing braking mechanisms while ensuring compliance with safety protocols in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect braking systems for defects prior to train departure.
  • Utilize hand and foot brakes effectively for safe train operations.
  • Conduct necessary repairs on braking systems promptly.
  • Track brake performance data throughout trips.
  • Liaise with other crew members for effective communication.
  • Adhere to all industry safety standards and practices.
  • Document all maintenance and safety checks diligently.
  • Assist with cargo operations when required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on train-related equipment.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Railroad Brake Operator or related position.
