Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement tailored strategies to ensure all students can thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement lesson plans that address students' strengths and weaknesses.
  • Conduct assessments to determine student learning needs and evaluate their progress.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in both individual and group settings.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and families.
  • Attend team meetings and collaborate with other educators and support staff.
  • Support students with behavioral challenges and provide positive reinforcement.
  • Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
  • Lead or participate in special education committees and initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Special Education certification is required

  • 5+ years of experience in special education or related fields
