Job Description

As a Railroad Signal Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of railroad signals, switches, and related equipment. You'll ensure that trains can operate smoothly and safely along the tracks while maintaining communication with train crews and dispatchers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor railroad switches and signals.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance on signal equipment.
• Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Liaise with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability.
• Assist in training new personnel on signal operation protocols.
• Document maintenance activities and operational logs.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
• Support incident investigations to improve safety protocols.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a railroad signal operator training program

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in railroad signaling or related fields.

Technical Skills

• Radio communication equipment
• Climbing equipment

Certifications

• Safety Certification in Railroad Operations

Languages

• English: Fluent
