Job Description

As a Hospice Music Therapist, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic music interventions to hospice patients. Your role will involve assessing individual patient needs, developing customized music therapy plans, and delivering engaging music sessions to support emotional and physical well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of patients' musical backgrounds and preferences.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers in creating holistic care plans.
  • Evaluate the impact of music therapy on patient well-being regularly.
  • Use adaptive musical instruments to meet the needs of all patients.
  • Guide families on how to incorporate music into caregiving at home.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress.
  • Develop a resource library of music therapy materials for staff and families.
  • Host community outreach events to share information on the role of music therapy.
  • Provide support to bereaved families through music and remembrance sessions.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices in music therapy.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field is essential
  • Master's degree in Music Therapy is preferred
Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience working as a Music Therapist in a healthcare setting
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of music therapy techniques

Certifications
